J Dilla passed away 10 years ago but his spirit and music lives on from posthumous albums from classics like Donuts and The Shining. The Detroit MC has had a major impact in the Hip Hop community not only as a producer but as an emcee as well. The\u00a0highly anticipated vocal album, The Diary was originally slated to drop in 2002, but\u00a0will supposedly be released later this year on April 15, \u00a0Both Dilla\u2019s estate and Mass Appeal Records are coming together for the historic event. A decade of meticulous work was invested into composing this project. Guest appearances range from artists such as Nottz, Snoop, and Bilal. In addiction to Dilla himself, veteran beatsmiths like Pete Rock, and House Shoes are responsible for creating the LP\u2019s cohesive sound.
