2 Chainz performs for Tiny Desk Concert series

Rapper 2 Chainz is one of the latest artists to hit up NPR’s Tiny Desk series, but he did it with a twist. TRU representative performed some of his most notable songs in a nail salon.

The reason being he wanted to highlight black owned businesses during Black History Month and he thought this would be a good way of giving them free advertisement because of his status and how popular the Tiny Desk Concert series has become.

Chainz went to Atlanta’s Pamper nail salon where he performed “Southside Hov” & “Vampire” off his So Help Me God! album. At the Pamper nail salon he got champagne pedicure, indeed the nail technician actually gave him a foot rub with the bubbly. “This gonna be the hottest Tiny Desk because it’s a lifestyle,” Chainz promised.

Then later on after receiving a spa day he switched locations to a studio where he performed “Good Drank, “I’m Different” and “Grey Area” to finish out his 20 minute set. The Def Jam artist gave a salute to Diddy and Tyler Perry for their contributions and concluded with a final statement “Black History Month — 28 days ain’t enough to celebrate what we’ve done for the country, what we’ve done for humanity.”

So Help Me God! was released this past fall on Nov.2nd that featured Lil Wayne and Mulatto.
