Watch and Learn: HBO Doc Spotlights Jordan Davis’ Murder In ‘3 1/2 Minutes, 10 Bullets’

by Raheem Karim

There have been countless and senseless murders of black teen around the country such as Tamir Rice, Rekia Boyd, Michael Brown and others. Numerous stories get lost such as Jordan Davis’s story. Davis, 17, was killed after an argument stemmed between himself and a white man over loud music.

The First 48, HBO Documentary Films Titled 3 1/2 Minutes, 10 Bullets, tells this gripping story profiling a heartbreaking tale of two parents who attempt to get justice for their slain child. The documentary chronicles the moments leading into Jordan Davis’ death, as well as the trial that took place in Jacksonville, Florida. The documentary dives deep into how racism affects ones actions against another human being.

This film highlights how injustice is deeply rooted in the American justice system. I highly recommend this film to learn how this social ill affects you.
