Painter Demetrius Williams Pushing The Art Scene Forward
Atlanta based painter Demetrius Williams takes visions to creative realities on either clothes, canvas, paper, and more. I had a opportunity to visit Williams studio where the creativity takes place.
He prides himself with introducing the magic of what can be created from all forms of media, ranging from Acrylic & Oil paintings; Face Art; Photography; Mix Media; Prismacolor; Fashion & Lifestyle.
There were paintings, clothes, drawings, and photos neatly laid out around the studio. Each project reflects a critical view of changing social perceptions, political satire, customization and diverse cultural expressions.
Demetrius states anything can used as canvas for creativity, but his favorite canvas is painting on clothing. He showed me several artistic pieces using acrylic paints on clothing. If you can visualize it, he can create it.

His passion for the arts only intensified while serving in the United States Marine Corps during the 1990’s, whereby he shed his artistic light on a 12’ x 20’ patriotic wall mural, depicting toughness, movement, of a few good men and women, who make up the Corp. His perception aims to convey complications of life as a Marine, through combinations of color, texture, and symbolism.
The Atlanta art scene is on the rise and communities are taking notice. Atlanta along with business owners are empowering artist to help shape the creative landscape with building mural paintings across downtown. Williams has created several wall murals for Hilton Hotel.
