You know how you’re surfing through the net looking for a new artist or something different? Well I found Edgar James a Atlanta based soul artist, producer, and songwriter. His voice immediately caught my ear. The first record I played ‘What U Did’ his voice and feelings came from the depths of his soul. Edgar James is singing like a man hurt on this record, and when you know when a man is hurt emotions come pouring out.

Edgar James reminds of old classic soul singers with a modern twist. James list of influences are Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway, Smokie Norful, Mariah Carey, Luther Vandross, Whitney Houston, John Legend, and Anthony Hamilton. This means that this brother has delve into the crates and studied the legends of music. This is ever so evident on the record ‘Feelins’.

He first took the stage in 2002 as a member of an R&B group, True Harmony, until the group parted ways in 2003. James used that time to craft is his music and redefine his style.
