DJ Salah Ananse Drops a Afrobeat and Hip hop fusion THE AFROLANTIS EXPERIMENT: Volume 1

Renowned DJ and producer Salah Ananse released his THE AFROLANTIS EXPERIMENT: Volume 1 a little over a month ago but I owe it to myself and real music heads to share this news. Since moving to Atlanta in 1998 I have attended several parties and show where Salah has put it down on the turntables. If you have not been to a Salah Ananse party in Atlanta you have been living in a cave. At the time was not familiar with Afrobeat and house music. I have to admit he me explore new genres of music and expand my catalog.

What distinguish Salah from other deejays is his unique mix of soul, house & hip hop. He has a very notable 20 year career in the music scene opening DJ spots for artists such as Jay-Z, Dave Chappelle, India Arie, Joi, Res, Fertile Ground, Dwele, Les Nubians, Musiq, The Roots, Donnie and Raphael Saadiq.

Not only does Ananse rock crowds for some of the Southeast’s most popular party series such as One Music Fest, House In The Park and his own Afrique Electrique & Sunday School.

His latest album series is named after a successful party series Afrique Electrique Volume 1. The album grooves from beginning to end with non-stop uptempo blends. In this particular volume Anase blends classic Atlanta hip hop samples with Afro Beat. This something very few, if only he can pull off. He uses Afro Beat to provide new perspectives to old hip hop classics.
