Billboard will be honoring pop icon Madonna this winter with Billboard’s Women of the Year Award for 2016. She has earned 21 top ten albums, 8 albums that went No.1, and 12 No.1 singles,and winning 7 Grammy’s, so far she’s the best female solo recording artist of all-time.
She just finished her Rebel Heart Tour that sold over 1 million tickets at the box office and the tour earned $170 millions. Overall her tours combined has earned an astonishing $1.3 billion dollars But music aside she has given back with her philanthropic work, such as her Raising Malawi organization that serves as a pediatric and intensive care unit for children. The facility will be named The Mercy James Institute of Pediatric Surgery and Intensive Care and will open sometime next.
Madonna will receive her honorary award on Dec.9th at the Billboard’s Women in Music and the ceremony will air Dec.12th on Lifetime.
