Ice Cube Said You Can’t Cancel A Soldier on “Trying To Maintain”

Entertainment mogul and rap legend Ice Cube has picked up the mic again to show he still has something left in the tank on his new single “Trying To Maintain”. The rapper addresses haters for the heat he took heat for speaking with the Trump administration over his “Contract With Black America” in his attempt to bridge the gap between the Black community and political leaders. To be fair he did present this contract to the Biden and Harris campaign first.

In a CNN interview Ice Cube clarified his position, “I didn’t run to go work with any campaign. Both campaigns contacted me,” he told Chris Cuomo on Friday. “Both campaigns wanted to talk to me about the Contract with Black America. One campaign said, ‘We love what you have, but let’s really dig into it after the election,’ and one campaign said ‘We love what you have, do you mind talking to us about it?’ And that’s what I did, so I didn’t run to nobody.”

Many criticized Ice Cube for “working with the dark side.”

“The wild thing is that Eazy E went to a fundraiser at the George HW Bush White House in 1991 and got criticized about *for the rest of his life.* Ice Cube apparently forgot about that when he decided to collaborate with an infinitely worse administration,” tweeted Jelani Cobb about Jackson’s N.W.A. bandmate.

On Wednesday (Feb. 3), the N.W.A. co-founder revealed that Joe Biden and his team had reached out to him and were open to discussing his Contract with Black America.

“They reached out; we gotta set the meeting,” he said on the “Ryan Cameron: Uncensored” radio show.

A specific date has not been set yet, The meeting is still in its planning stages.
