Television shows of the past are becoming a thing of the present. With classic television shows like The X Files and Full House returning to the small screen they are going to have to make room for one more and that would be Gilmore Girls.
Movie streaming company Netflix is bringing back stars Lauren Graham (Lorelai), Alexis Bledel (her daughter, Rory), Scott Patterson (Luke) and Kelly Bishop (Emily, Lorelai’s mother) for a final season that will be written and directed by series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, both executive producers. Two other stars, Sean Gunn (Kirk) and Keiko Agena (Lane), also are returning.
Netflix did not give any details on when the show will make its debut or the number of episodes nor the official title. There is no word if Melissa McCarthy will return to the show even with her successful movie career and hit tv series Mike & Molly.
In October, TV Line and The Hollywood Reporter reported that Netflix had reached agreement with Warner Bros. for a limited-series revival that would be made up of four 90-minute episodes/mini-movies.
