Could Beyonce Be Cast As Glinda the Good Witch In “The Wiz” Remake?

NBC is doing a remake of the 1975 original Broadway hit The Wiz. It has been reported that Beyonce has been offered the role of Glinda the Good Witch. Thus far, Queen Latifah & Mary J.Blige have signed on to play the Wizard and the Wicked Witch of the West Evillene respectively.

The Wiz was developed into a movie that debuted in 1978 starring Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Richard Pryor, & Lena Horne

The film is an adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s The Wonderful Wizard of Oz with an entirely African-American cast.

NBC and Beyonce reps have yet to confirm her role in The Wiz.
