‘Sex for grades’: Undercover in West African universities

For more than a year BBC Africa Eye sent undercover journalists posing as students inside the University of Lagos and the University of Ghana some of West Africa’s prestigious schools.

These Institutions in West Africa have increasingly been facing allegations of sexual harassment and blackmail by lecturers for many decades. These allegations have not been taken seriously or proven until now. There is now video evidence of the these incidents.

Reporter Kiki Mordi, who knows first-hand how devastating sexual harassment can be, led the investigation reveals what happens behind closed doors at some of the region’s most prestigious universities.

The reporter met with Dr. Igbenegu several times as he tried to bribe her with money and admission to the school in exchange for sex. It is a very powerful video exposing by sexual harassment by lecturers. I’m sure there will be more information to come.
