A documentary about the iconic Long Island hip hop group De La Soul will be released September 7th by Mass Appeal. This follows as the group just released the group’s first album in 12 years, And The Anonymous Nobody last week. The album was released independently, crowdfunded via the second-highest grossing Kickstarter campaign in the site’s history.
The documentary highlights De La Soul’s LP debut 3 Feet High and Rising as well as the sampling clearances that plagued later albums, and plagues them still today with most of their catalogue still not being available to stream or even buy through most online distributors.
You can pick up your copy of the album on iTunes. Watch the trailer for the De La Soul Is Not Dead documentary below.
