Tory Lanez Allegedly Texted Megan Thee Stallion To Apologize For Shooting

After weeks of silence Canadian rapper Tory Lanez who was recently named as the shooter during a July incident involving Megan Thee Stallion finally talked about the incident. He admits he was drunk the evening of the incident. A month ago, Megan spoke candidly via an Instagram Live video about being shot in her feet and being rushed to surgery. She also shared how she feared for her life.

On Wednesday,TMZ released a report alleging Tory Lanez apologized via text message 15 hours after the shooting. He also urged Megan for forgiveness.

Tory’s text message to Megan allegedly read, “I know u prolly never gone talk to me again, but I genuinely want u to know I’m sorry from the bottom of my heart.” On the topic of what led to the shooting, he wrote: “I was just too drunk.”

Tory Lanez was arrested and booked at the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department on July 12 for carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle.

Yesterday Lanez responded to a report by HotNewHipHop after the publication claimed his streaming numbers were down 40%. Tory reached out to refute the claims.

Lanez hasn’t been arrested or charged for the shooting. The L.A. County D.A. is currently considering charging him with “felony assault with a firearm” reportsTMZ.

The fallout for Tory Lanez has been swift. Singer Kehlani dropped Lanez versus on her hit single “Can I” from her upcoming deluxe album. Kehlani revealed that she wanted to support her close friend Megan Thee Stallion.

JoJo also says Tory Lanez will no longer appear on her upcoming project. In a statement to PEOPLE on Friday, JoJo said, “It felt like the right and necessary thing to do, out of respect and love for Meg.” Tory has not responded to either situation.
