The films backdrop is set during the Richard Nixon impeachment Congressional hearings in the early '70's to have him removed from office because of Watergate, however President Nixon resigned from office in 1974. Mo'Nique will portray widow who tries to provide for her family. RECOMMENDED:MO'NIQUE SUES NETFLIX FOR DISCRIMINATION Mo"Nique's husband was violently murdered by racists, who in turn her character seeks revenge on her late husbands killers. Also in the process she attempts to steal back her husband's trucking haul to provide for their daughter. Mo'Nique released a statement about the upcoming project Mother Trucker “Never in my 30 years of being in entertainment have I seen a film with a badass black woman that has the balance of funny, drama, and action while addressing the challenges women of color face everyday, like ‘Mother Trucker.'” The indie film Mother Trucker is written by former HBO executive J.Oyer Thomas, who has directed, written, and produced content for HBO hit series The Sopranos & Game of Thrones. No word yet on the release date of Mother Trucker, however we will keep you posted.
