Skyzoo recruits Raheem DaVaughn for new album Brooklyn MC Skyzoo is considered a lyrical beast when it comes to putting his words to the pad and some rap fans would say he is often overlooked in Hip Hop when it comes to lyricism. Coming fresh off his 2017 Peddler Themes EP Skyzoo is gearing up for his latest release Celebration of Us. On Celebration of Us Skyzoo will shed light on topics that affect the MOOR community from cultural appropriation, police brutality, and other issues. Music of the times is the best way to describe it,” Skyzoo tells Billboard. “From cultural appropriation and gentrification to police brutality and the irony of motives behind bigger motives, it’s an album that explores who we are and why we are where we are in society, as a people. What’s been done to us and what we’ve done to ourselves, mainly out of confused necessity, all while celebrating us in the process." Celebration is schedule for a Feb.2 release and feature production from Illmind and Apollo Brown with guest features from Raheem DaVaughn and Kay Cola. Skyzzo gave an insight on what fans should expect from the album. "Conceptually, this is Ta-nehisi Coates meets Chappelle’s Show, The Autobiography of Malcolm X meets Black-ish, the case of Sandra Bland meets the birth of Air Jordans," he explains.
