Busta Rhymes Drops ‘Extinction Level Event 2’ f/ Ol Dirty Bastard, Kendrick Lamar, Q-Tip, and Mariah Carey
Busta Rhymes released his tenth studio album Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath of God Friday at midnight. The album is a follow up to his 1998 classic album Extinction Level Event: The Final World Front. E.L.E. 2 and his first album since his 2012’s Year of the Dragon was dropped.
Chris Rock made YouTube video to announce Busta’s forthcoming album back in August. Chris Rock was yelling and screaming about how we can’t fuck with the god Busta Rhymes.
The new album is not short on star power at all. The album features music heavyweights such as Chris Rock, Rakim, Pete Rock, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Mariah Carey, Q-Tip, Rick Ross, M.O.P., Rapsody, Mary J. Blige, Bell Biv DeVoe, Nikkie Grier and Louis Farrakhan.
Busta released the assisted Kendrick Lamar single Look Over Your Shoulder” and “The Don And The Doss” with Vybz Kartel and J-Doe.
Prior to the release of the anticipated album, Busta Rhymes challenged T.I. to step into the ring with him for the latest season of the Verzuz battle series.“To my brother that knows I love him. I’m begging you to step in the ring with me. I’m gonna bust yo ass,” Busta declared. TI responded saying, “Busta’s one of the most phenomenal talents of our time, man,” replied Tip to the offer. “I salute and respect Busta a whole lot. I just think the generational gap might be a little too much.” Instead, the Atlanta rapper will face off against Jeezy Thursday November 19th.
