Singer Tinashe Covers 80’s Classic On ‘Genius of Love’

R&B singer Tinashe takes on an old Mariah Carey track. Tinashe has teamed up with DJ Cassidy for new song ‘Genius Of Love’, to holdover fans before her new album Joyride release.

You may recognize the ‘Tom Tom Club’ sample from Mariah Carey’s 1995 track ‘Fantasy’ with Old Dirty Bastard. The popular 80’s sample has also been used by many artist over the years such as Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Public Enemy, Redman, Cam’ron in the past. The track will be the soundtrack for American brand Target’s Spring style ad campaign called ‘Around Town’. Meanwhile, Tinashe’s ‘Joyride’ tour named after the upcoming album, kicks off at the end of February.
There is currently no release date for the project.
