Def Jam co-founder and philanthropist Russell Simmons will host “I Am Muslim Too” rally in New York’s Times Square this Sunday on Feb.19th.  The protest is in response to President Trump’s Protecting the Nation from Foreign Terrorist Entry also known as the “Muslim Ban.”

The protest starts at noon and will conclude at 4pm and Simmons will be accompanied by Rabbi Marc Schneier, president of the Foundation for Ethnic Understanding and Imam Shamsi Ali of the Jamaica Muslim Center.

After Trump’s inauguration within a week he signed an executive order on a travel ban from Syria, Iraq, Iran, Yemen, Sudan, Somalia, and Libya. However, Saudi Arabia was not on that list and they harbor more terrorist that has committed acts of terrorism against the U.S. than all seven countries combined. Coincidence or not, President Trump has business ties in Saudi Arabia.

Simmons also stated this “Everyone except white privileged males are in immediate danger,” Simmons said in a press release. “African Americans, women, Latinos, Asians and LGBTQ are all at risk, but there is no freedom in that privileged status either because the spirit of the oppressor is oppressed as well. We are living in a time when unity will make America great. This is a special moment for all Americans of good will to band together to promote the kind of compassion and equality for others that we want for ourselves.”
