Rapper YG Defends Troy Ave In Shooting Incident

The Troy Ave shooting incident that happened a couple weeks ago at The Irving Plaza in NYC has not lost steam in the world of hip hop music. There have been major controversy about what spark the incident. Troy Ave has claimed self defense and has been charged with attempted murder and weapon possession. Of course people choosing sides. West Coast emcee YG has spoken out and gave his opinion about the situation in a recent interview.

YG spoke with DJ Self stating, “I feel like this, if I got popped I would have did the same thing. I would have made my way out that joint period,” said YG. “That’s just reaction.” in defense of Troy Ave.

Troy claimed he and his bodyguard, Ronald “Banga” McPhatter, were shot by an unnamed individual, and the Brooklyn rhymer fired back at the person. McPhatter was killed. Three other people, including Troy, were injured.
