Veteran rock group Pearl Jam will donate money to the citizens of Flint,MI to provide them with clean water. Frontman Eddie Vedder and friends have contributed $125,000 to The United Way of Genesee to help out the water crisis stricken city.
But also including Republic Records, the Universal Music Publishing Group and Ticketmaster — pledged an additional $175,000, bringing the grand total to $300,000.
The United Way of Genesee County will channel the money to the Flint Water Fund, which benefits the city’s ongoing drinking water contamination crisis. Also Pearl Jam started a Crowdrise campaign as well that to date has generated $8,000 in funds.
