Mary J.Blige is a hitwoman
The Queen of Hip Hop & Soul Mary J.Blige is not slowing down when it comes to acting. Although, she is known for music the No More Drama singer may have caught a bit of the acting bug. Especially since she was just recently nominated for Best Supporting Actress for the recent Academy Awards for her role in the Netflix film Mudbound.
Well, the Yonkers, New York native has reunited with the streaming service company again for another project. This time Netflix has enlisted Mary J.Blige for a role in the Umbrella Academy series. The Umbrella Academy is series that centers around a dysfunctional family who happened to be superheroes and they try to come together as a family to solve the mysterious death of their father, but the families personalities and superhero abilities makes it difficult to be a unit.

Blige’s character is a hitwoman, who travels through time to kill her targets that she has been assigned to. The name of her character is Cha-Cha, who has a unique and unorthodox style and also is a ruthless killer. The Umbrella Academy series comes from the novel of the same name that is written and created by Gerard Way and published through Dark Horse Comics.
This will be Blige’s first regular role in a series, even though she has made guest appearances here and there on various other film and television projects. The cast members also include for The Umbrella Academy Luther (Tom Hopper), Diego (David Castañeda), Allison (Emmy Raver-Lampman), Vanya (Ellen Page), Klaus (Robert Sheehan), and Number Five (Aidan Gallagher)
The nine time Grammy winner released her album Strength of a Woman that came out last in the spring of 2017. The album reached No.3 on Billboard’s Top 200 charts.
