James Bond actress Naomie Harris and Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Janelle Monae have joined the cast of Brad Pitt’s film Moonlight. The film marks Monae’s big screen debut.
A24 is fully financing the film from Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment (12 Years a Slave).
Barry Jenkins is directing Moonlight, which follows the story of a young man who comes of age during “War on Drugs”-era Miami. The film was adapted by Jenkins from the play In Moonlight Black Boys Look Blue by Tarell McCraney, and is currently shooting in Miami. It is schedule for release fall of 2016
