MTV Reveal VMA Nominations Kendrick Lamar Leads The Way With Seven Nominations

Drake and Cardi B receive multiple nominations

The 2022 MTV Video Music Awards will be held on SundayAugust 28th at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey and MTV just revealed this years nominations.

Three Hip Hop artists lead the pack with the most VMA nominations for the ceremony and that would be Kendrick Lamar, Jack Harlow, & Lil Nas X with seven nods each. Doja Cat and Harry Styles received 6 nominations, while Drake, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, and The Weeknd each earned five.

Other notable Hip Hop and R&B artist that nominated for a VMA Cardi B., Big Latto, Future, Alicia Keys, and Lizzo to name a few. Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow have a couple of nominations together for their collaboration “Industry Baby,” but the two artists are nominated separately for Artist of the Year. Doja Cat,Drake, and Taylor Swift are nominated for Video of the Year.
