Kool & The Gang announce new album
Iconic group Kool & The Gang has announced they will be gearing to celebrate their 60th anniversary in 2024, so it was only fitting they released a new single and video titled “Lets Party” featuring Sha Sha Jones.
The “Lets Party” single will be featured on the groups upcoming album People Just Wanna Have Fun marking the groups 34th studio album. Kool & The Gang recorded a 15 tracks for People Just Wanna Have Fun spearheaded by founding member Robert “Kool” Bell and original member George “Funky” Brown. The album scheduled for a summer release specifically July 14th through Astana Music Inc, distributed by BFD/The Orchard.
Besides Sha Sha Jones who contributed lead vocals on the album and the groups original horn players Kool’s brother Ronald “Khalis” Bell and Dennis “D.T.” Thomas, who passed away in 2020 and 2021, respectively. Other artists to lend their vocals are Shawn McQuiller, Lavell Evans, Dominique Karan, Rick Marcel and Walt Anderson, plus rappers Ami Miller & Ole’.
Founded in 1964, the band is behind a string of timeless hits that include “Celebration,” “Ladies Night,” “Get Down on It,” “Summer Madness” and “Hollywood Swinging.” Check out the Grammy Award winning video and newest single “Lets Party” and they are currently on tour go to the group’s website for tour dates.
