Jared Fogle who was known as the spokesperson for Subway was dropped by the company when he plead guilty last August to having had sex with minors and distributing and receiving child pornography, according to a plea agreement released by the U.S. attorney of the Southern District of Indiana.
Entertainment website TMZ reported that the former Subway pitchman was attacked by 60-year-old inmate on the prison yard. The inmate, who attacked him was Stephen Nigg and apparently he attacked Fogle in the yard, where he pushed Fogle down and unloaded with a barrage of punches to the face leaving him bloody.
Both Fogle and Nigg are serving time at the Federal Correctional Institution, Englewood, which is located in Littleton, Colo., about 9 miles outside of Denver.
Fogle is serving 15 years and 8 months for child pornography distribution and possession and sex with a minor.
