LL Cool J named Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominee

The prestigious Rock and Roll Hall of Fame just announced their 2019 nominees and from genre the R&B and Hip Hop genre the artist highly regarded some would say they are living legends. Legendary group Rufus & Chaka Khan and iconic singer/actress Janet Jackson, and representing Hip Hop is LL Cool J.

Rufus and Chaka Khan was one of the top funk bands in the 70’s most known for their hits such as “Tell Me Something Good,” “Do You Love What You Feel,” and “Ain’t Nobody.” Chaka Khan would eventually leave the band and have successful solo career as well. Janet Jackson part of the legendary Jackson family tree is most known for her classic albums Control, Rhythm Nation 1814, and the Velvet Rope. MC LL Cool J known as the artist that help build the most iconic record label Def Jam Recordings. LL released 12 studio albums on Def Jam classics such as his 1987 debut Radio, Bigger and Deffer, and Mama Said Knock You Out among others.

More first-time nominees include Stevie Nicks, Radiohead, Rage Against the Machine, the Cure, Kraftwerk, MC5, the Zombies Devo, Roxy Music, Todd Rundgren, John Prine, and Def Leppard. Fans can vote for their favorite nominees to win at the Rock Hall’s website before the 2019 inductees are announced in December.

The 2018 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees included Nina SimoneBon Jovithe Cars, the Moody Blues, and Sister Rosetta Tharpe.
