North Carolina rapper J. Cole’s ‘4 Your Eyez Only’ album debuted at No.1 on the Billboard charts making his mark on the industry. This will be Cole’s fourth straight No. 1 album. The album has moved a massive amount of 492,000 copies sold in its first week. Drake‘s VIEWS and Beyonce‘s Lemonade are the only other artists that have moved more units for highest-selling opening week.
Say what you want about J.Cole but he has found the magic formula to move units and can hold his own. Each album he has dropped there has been steady sales improvement in the opening week. He is on pace to reach platinum status once again. The cool thing about it is there are no guest features on the album and he handled majority of the production.
He set it off with the record “False Prophets” taking shots at Kanye West and Wale. J.Cole also debuted the HBO special documentary “Eyez” the same week the album dropped.
There have been rumors circulating of a J.Cole and Kendrick Lamar collaborate album. We don’t for sure but we will keep you posted. This would be great for Hip Hop music.
