First Lady Michelle Obama shined the brightest in the spotlight last night on the first day of the Democratic National Convention. Not only was her speech inspiring but she looked the part in her dark blue dress.y

Without ever mentioning Donald Trump’s name or a word of hate, she painted a picture of positivity and unity for one candidate Hillary Clinton and hate and divide for the other a la Donald Trump.

Michelle did not hold back any punches electrifying the Wells Fargo Arena in Philadelphia, Obama condemned “the hateful language that we hear from public figures on TV,” saying that “our motto is, when they go low, we go high.”

She did not stop there, taking shots at Trump’s campaign slogan “Make America Great Again”. Obama discussed raising her children in a White House that was built by slaves.

“Don’t let anyone tell you that this country isn’t great. This right now is the greatest country on earth,” the first lady said.

The Republicans have been playing on citizens fears and hateful rhetoric this campaign. Obama tackled that issue head on.

“This election — every election — is about who will have the power to shape our children for the next four or eight years of our lives. And I am here tonight because in this election, there is only one person who I trust with that responsibility — only one person who I believe is truly qualified to be President of the United States. And that is our friend, Hillary Clinton.”
