De La Soul group member Maseo teased a third installment of their Art Official Intelligence or (AOI) series on a recent visit of the Kyle Meredith With… podcast.
“AOI 3 is definitely going to to take precedent,” Maseo said about De La Soul’s upcoming plans. “It’s going to be the very next thing. That’s a responsibility that we have to our fans — a responsibility we even have to ourselves — with completing that trilogy… We have a responsibility to continue on just to sustain [Trugoy’s] legacy and what we’ve built as three childhood friends, and we have a responsibility to hip-hop.”
Maseo stated the album was recorded before De La Soul Member Dave’s aka Trugoy The Dove death, but will also contain new music.
Last month after decades of legal disputes over uncleared samples, De La Soul was finally able to place their music on streaming services. Tthe group’s first four albums – 3 Feet High and Rising, De La Soul is Dead, Buhloone Mindstate, and Stakes is High– are available for streaming.

To celebrate Dave’s life and legacy alongside the group’s milestone moment, De La Soul performed at NYC’s Webster Hall on The event was presented in partnership with Amazon Music and featured DJ sets from Stretch Armstrong, Rich Medina, D Nice, Clark Kent, and Tony Touch. The celebration include a star studded affair of family and friends, Common, Pete Rock, Diamond D, DJ Premier, Busta Rhymes, Large Professor, Queen Latifah, and many more
