D’Angelo vs Friends for Verzuz battle
D’Angelo has been announced as the next Verzuz guest for the season 2 kickoff on the popular livestream series. He doesn’t have a single opponent but instead, he’ll perform live from Harlem’s historic Apollo Theater with an array of unannounced friends. The other performers have been kept under wraps so far. The performance happens Saturday, February 27 at 8 p.m. Eastern, broadcast on Instagram.
Last season most notable battles featured, Gucci Mane and Jeezy, Brandy and Monica, and E-40 and Too $hort, Patti LaBelle and Gladys Knight, Jill Scott Verzuz Erykah Badu
D’Angelo’s most recent album is 2014’sBlack Messiah. In 2019 he contributed music to the soundtrack for video game Red Dead Redemption 2 and also appeared on Rapsody’s albumEve.
