The Washington, DC based, BOOMscat “Peace & Body Roll”, duo consists of keyboardist/drummer/producer, Asha Santee (BOOM), and vocalist/songwriter Jennifer Patience Rowe (scat). The group formed fall 2013 creating sound of composing of self growth, self evaluation, elevation, and uplifting your spirit.
Their first mixtape, “The Trilogy”, gained heavy traction and support from soul music veterans Kindred & The Family Soul, gospel music legend Richard Smallwood, and international performing artist Ayanna Gregory.
BOOMscat came back even better for 2013 EP “The West Wing Project” to rave reviews, and a great reception from the public.
2014 was the year listeners really took notice of BOOMscat. They became a House Artist Grant winner, which afforded them the opportunity to produce and record a new project pro bono from House Studio in Washington, DC. “No Life Jacket” EP, which was released digitally in December 2014 reaching #18 on the iTunes R&B charts.
