Big Boi Releases New Visuals In The South ft. Gucci Mane & Pimp C

Big Boi gets animated in the south

Big Boi one half of the legendary group Outkast just released the latest visuals for his single “In the South.” What makes his latest video unique is that Big Boi gets animated for “In the South” by that he got the cartoon treatment, which was produced by Cartoon Buck Productions. In the South features fellow Atlanta native and recent newlywed Gucci Mane and the late great Pimp C from UGK.

Mr.Daddy Fat Sacks explains why he went the animated route “It was a cool way to have myself, Pimp C, and Gucci Mane all together,” Big Boi told Yahoo! Music. “I mean with Pimp C (R.I.P.) not being here, it was just a cool fun way to showcase all of us together and imagine what it would look like.”

In the South is the latest single off his third studio solo album Boomiverse the previous singles were Mic Jack that features lead singer Adam Levine of Maroon 5, Scar, and Sleepy Brown, and Kill Jill featuring Killer Mike and Jeezy. The album was released in the summer of this year and is the follow up to his sophomore effort Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors in 2012.

Big Boi has done music outside of Outkast by releasing a collaborative album Big Grams with musical group Phantogram in 2015. Music lovers are clamoring for an Outkast album, but neither Andre 3000 nor Big Boi himself hinted at that them putting out another album.

Big Boi burst onto the scene with his partner in rhyme Andre 3000 to form Outkast and released their 1994 and 5 mics classic Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik. 2004 was one of their biggest years in music because they won two Grammy’s for best rap album and album of the year for Speakerboxxx/The Love Below.
