The African American Film Critics Association To Honor Prince’s Cinematic Legacy

The African American Film Critics Association produces awareness for films with widespread appeal to the black community while stressing the importance of films produced, written, directed and starring people of African descent.

This year they will celebrate the cinematic legacy of Prince with a series of screenings and discussions with the “Celebration of Prince in Cinema,” which will take place over two weekends.

Prince starred in 4 iconic films during his career Under The Cherry Moon, Sign Of The Times, Graffiti Bridge and Purple Rain.

The screenings will begin in Beginning on Apr. 21st at the American Jazz Museum in Kansas City and the Blair-Caldwell Library in Denver, and concluding with two screenings at the Auburn Avenue Research Library in Atlanta and the African American Research Library in Ft. Lauderdale.
