Music Life Social put together a list of the 4 Hip Hop collaboration albums we would like to see happen in the near future. Do you agree or disagree with the list?
1. Kendrick Lamar and J.Cole
Recently there has been rumors that this collaboration may actually happen soon. How great would that be that two of hip hop’s new generation of socially concious emcees come together. This will definitely be a meeting of minds and help uplift the culture. Both artist have made a name for themselves and gained popularity for their lyrical content and insight. I can picture J. Cole having a hand in production and Kendrick creating a fly hook.
2. Jay Z and Nas
Fans have been hoping for this for a long time, but will it ever come to fruition I don’t know. Two of hip hop music elder statesman and titans, leaves me no doubt this album would be a classic. Jay Z and Nas rank in the top 5 of most real hip hop heads list with having a couple of classic albums between them. They have been putting down since the early 90’s and still remain relevant. Remember these two were at odds for awhile, than finally squashing the beef. Imagine Jay’s lyrical word play and Nas deep intellectual rhymes. I can see DJ Premier, Pharrell, and Timbaland on the production. This would be a street banger.
3. Nicki Minaj and Remy Ma
Nicki Minaj and Remy Ma are holding it down for the females in this male dominated industry. These are the two grittiest female emcees as of right now. I would take these two over most male emcees in a cypher. Nicki has stolen the show on most guest spots featuring all male emcees. Is it just me or has Remy’s skills gotten better since she has been released from prison?
4. Andre 3000 and Q-Tip
Andre 3000 and Q-Tip are two of the most eclectic minds in hip hop. Q-Tip help pioneer alternative hip-hop as a member of the iconic group A Tribe Called Quest. Andre 3000 help put southern hip hop on the map as member of Outkast with his charismatic word play and in depth lyrics of southern life. With these two collaborating an album would be fiercely intelligent, socially progressive lyrics and brilliant fusion of rap and jazz.
Well all we can do is hope that dreams come true with our 4 Hip Hop collaboration albums we would like to happen but never say never.
