Yazz Ahmed releases psychedelic Arabic Jazz EP La Saboteuse Remixed
The U.K. has always had a love affair with jazz music. Jazz artist Yazz Ahmed offers something eclectic and flavorful to the jazz world today. Yazz released the remix EP La Saboteuse Remixed of her 2017 highly acclaimed psychedelic Arabic jazz album La Saboteuse. She brilliantly fuses Jazz and Arabic music creating another hidden chamber of music.
Yazz Ahmed sends your mind in a state of curiosity with relaxing rhythms and deep thinking. At the same time she creates a artistic vision blurring the lines between jazz, electronic sound design and the music of her mixed heritage. Keeping up with the Arabic traditions and her heritage can hear a lot of wind instrument sounds. I am guessing the instrument is a the ney an end-blown flute that figures prominently in Middle Eastern music. In some of these musical traditions, it is the only wind instrument used. Yazz teases with some funky drum beats also to get you grooving.
La Saboteuse Remixed is a abstract piece of musical artwork blending different sounds to take listeners on various paths.
In recent years she has lead her ensembles in concerts in London, around the UK and abroad, including New York, Kuwait, Ukraine, Algeria, Berlin, Paris, Istanbul and Amsterdam.
Yazz has also recorded and performed with Radiohead, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, ABC, Swing Out Sister, Joan as Police Woman, Tarek Yamani, Amel Zen and has toured the world with art-rock band, These New Puritans.

She released her debut Finding My Way Home in 2011, but the 2017 critically acclaimed album, La Saboteuse, brought her more fanfare and worldwide attention.
