Silk Sonic Wins Big At The 2022 Grammy Awards

If this was the NBA Finals, Silk Sonic just did a sweep going 4 for 4 at 2022 Grammy Awards. The duo comprised of Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak collected statues for “Best R&B Song,” “Best R&B Performance,” (tying with Jazmine Sullivan’s “Pick Up Your Feelings”) and “Song of The Year,” Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak stepped back onto the stage one last time this evening to accept the award for “Record of The Year,” for for “Leave The Door Open.”

“We are really trying our hardest to remain humble at this point, ok? But in the industry, we call that a clean sweep,” a full-ham”, stated Paak. Their lead single Leave The Door Open

is from the debut album An Evening With Silk Sonic. The single spent two weeks atop Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart and went on to be certified double-platinum.

Silk Sonic got the 2022 Grammys popping during their opening performance.

The R&B duo, brought the crowd to its feet with “777,” a track off. Their performance had all the characteristics of Las Vegas, glitz, glamour, in addition to the musicians’ shimmering outfits that featured playing card-inspired hearts, spades, diamonds and clubs.

The group is currently in the midst of a residency at Park MGM’s Dolby Live that runs through the end of May.

Other notable performances was Nas delivering an overview of his career with a medley of turn-of-the-millennium. The legendary emcee finally received the spotlight his career has deserved and received a huge standing ovation. Nas won his first Grammy award for 2020’s King’s Disease. His King’s Disease II was nominated this year but lost this year to Tyler The Creator.

Hosted by Noah, the 64th Grammy Awards ceremony was held Sunday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and aired live on CBS and Paramount+.
