Terrance Martin The Sounds of Crenshaw Vol. 1 album has mastered blending sounds of jazz, funk, soul, hip-hop so seamlessly and creatively. The Grammy-nominated producer and frequent Kendrick Lamar collaborator has released a soul bending collective album effort today via Ropeadope Records.

This is album is a collective project introducing a new group The Pollyseeds along with Robert Glasper, Kamasi Washington, Marlon Williams, Rose Gold and many more.

The 13 track project is a combination of old and new sounds custom made for adult contemporary radio. The blend of instruments paints a picture of his Crenshaw Los Angeles neighborhood. This is more than just music, there is a meaning behind it. Crenshaw Blvd has a unique place in history serving as a multi-culture area for Latinos and blacks. Parts of Crenshaw Blvd is where the action was, with spots like the classic Maverick’s Flat – the Apollo Of The West – where featured acts like Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, Ike and Tina Turner, and Parliament played.
