The Kentucky Derby will take place Mother’s Day weekend and the big event is not just limited to horse racing but there will be some performances by some legendary acts. The Kentucky Derby entertainment will feature performances by The Isley Brothers, New Edition, and Janet Jackson.
The Kentucky Derby festivities will kickoff on Saturday May 7 and it is only fitting to have University of Louisville alumni NFL quarterbacks Teddy Bridgewater and MVP Lamar Jackson return to Louisville for the Derby City Reunion Weekend at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center. That Wednesday May 4th The Isley Brothers will perform at the Louisville League Urban Gala.
That Saturday May 7th Janet Jackson and New Edition will be performing at the Lynn Family Stadium and this will be a special occasion because this will be the first time a music event has been held at the stadium.
Eric Granger, ASM Global’s general manager for all three venues, said in a press statement: “We are eager to bring new entertainment options to Louisville and give fans additional ways to celebrate Derby week. New Edition is currently wrapping up their For The Culture tour with Charlie Wilson and Jodeci and just recently announced new music is on the way and they are collaborating with famed producer Teddy Riley.
