Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter The Dream announced on Instagram the release of IAMSAM, a Sam Cooke cover album via SoundCloud. The eight-track album was secretly recorded in 2010 while The Dream was working on Beyoncé’s 4. The Dream stayed true to the original production and sound of the late Same Cooke with tunes like “Cupid” and “A Change Is Gonna Come”. The album is a tribute to the Dream’s mom on the 23rd anniversary of her death.
“My Mother loved a lot of artists growing up,” said The-Dream. “But the one we shared the most interest in together was Sam Cooke, so tonight, I give him back to her.”
