Photo Credit: Emily Bogle/NPR BJ The Chicago Kid: NPR Tiny Desk Concert Soulful R&B crooner BJ The Chicago Kid dropped the mic on NPR Music's 'Tiny Desk' concert Series yesterday. Originally he was supposed to perform on on The 1123 Tour in D.C. but was canceled at the last minute. He put on show singing a 9 song medley 17 minute set of backed by a 5 piece band. Usually artist sing about 3 to 4 songs, but BJ The Chicago Kid wanted to cherish the moment. He started with tracks from his early Pineapple Now-Laters days "Good Luv'n" and "Aiight." Than he went into his major label debut album In My Mind, performing "Church," "Love Inside" and "Turnin' Me Up." Finally he finished up with songs from his latest project, 1123. The band did an amazing job consisting of Tony "Rico" Nichols: drums; Jairus "Jmo" Mozee: guitar; Joe Cleveland: bass; Delvin Brumfield: keys; Peter Lee John: violin.
