Al Pereira/Michael Ochs Archives/Getty Images The Low End Theory & Enter the 36 Chambers make history Two legendary and iconic music groups A Tribe Called Quest and Wu-Tang Clan received some amazing news that only a few artists have achieved no matter the genre. The National Recording Registry announced that A Tribe Called Quest's sophomore album The Low End Theory and Wu-Tang Clan's debut album Enter The 36 Chambers will be archived in the Library of Congress. The Library of Congress in a press release gave their reasoning for choosing these two albums “A Tribe Called Quest’s 1991 album, ‘The Low End Theory’ was the group’s second studio release and came to be seen as a definitive fusion of jazz and rap with its distinctive sound,” and “Wu-Tang Clan’s 1993 album ‘Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)’ would shape the sound of hardcore rap and reasserted the creative capacity of the East Coast rap scene.” RECOMMENDED: A REVIEW OF PHIFE DAWGS FOREVER ALBUM A Tribe Called Quest member Q-Tip released the following statement about the Library of Congress archiving The Low End Theory ”We are honored to have our work added to the prestigious National Recording Registry amongst so many other astounding works. We are humbled and grateful for this acknowledgement. Thank you so, so much.” In related news, the late great MC and A Tribe Called Quest member Phife Dawg posthumously released his album Forever and the group has also been nominated for this years Rock&Roll Hall of Fame.
