Netflix announces week long comedy stand up \u201cNetflix Is A Joke\u201d in Los Angeles According to Variety, Netflix just announced a week long standup and improv comedy festival. The Event is enitled the \u201cNetflix Is A Joke\u201d will take place across over 20 venues in Los Angeles, including the Hollywood Bowl, Greek Theatre, Hollywood Palladium and The Largo, between April 27 and May 3. Dave Chappelle will headline the festival accompanied by other big names such as , Martin Lawrence, David Letterman, Ali Wong, Wanda Sykes, Kevin Hart, and many more. The festival is be produced by Netflix in association with Live Nation. The streaming service is partnering with Comedy Gives Back, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to create a safety net for comedians in need with mental health, medical and financial crisis support. Netflix\u2019s chief content officer released the following statement on the upcoming festival: \u201cIt\u2019s our honor to transform LA for one week into the funniest place on earth. This festival is a unique celebration of the art of comedy, and the role it plays in reflecting our lives and defining culture.
