On The Rise: “Terror Town” Rapper G Herbo Paints Vivid Pictures Of Street Life

G Herbo

I ran across G Herbo by accident surfing SoundCloud and this dude immediately caught my attention with his flow. I guess I am late because this Young G has been putting work for a minute, but never late than never. Herbo hails from “Terror Town” in the Eastside of Chicago, one of the most notorious crime-ridden areas in the country.

He may be young but has earned his stripes in the streets. Herbo is a artist and what I mean by artist is that he can paint vivid pictures with words that the listener can feel and visualize. The lyrics are hardcore and there is no mumble rap. I can hear everything this brother saying.

After appearing on a pair of tracks off Free Crack, a release by close associate Lil Bibby, in 2013. G Herbo became one of the most sought after rappers. Big name rappers such as Common, Young Chop, and Earl Sweatshirt sought him for verses, and he also issued his first two mixtapes: Welcome to Fazoland and Pistol P Project. Wright subsequently signed with Cinematic Music Group and made his debut there in 2015 with a mixtape, Ballin Like I’m Kobe, titled in tribute to a friend who had been murdered two years prior. Wright appeared on Lil Yachty’s “Up Next 3”

Be sure to put G Herbo in your rotation because is on the rise. Check out some of his music below and also visit his Spotify page.
