Prodigy, one half of Mobb Deep, has died in Las Vegas at the age of 42. His publicist says he was hospitalized “a few days ago in Vegas after a Mobb Deep performance for complications caused by a sickle cell anemia crisis.
It is well known Prodigy has battled the disease since birth.”
He was in Vegas over the weekend performing with the Art of Rap tour … with Ghostface Killah, Onyx, KRS-One, Ice-T to name a few. Mobb Deep performed Saturday night.
Mobb Deep are known for their dark, hardcore delivery and released the classic album The Infamous in 1995 that included hit singles “Shook Ones”, and”Survival Of The Fittest”. The successful Hell on Earth followed in 1996.
