Notorious B.I.G. Might Be Resurrected In Holographic Form For Videos and Performances

Notorious B.I.G. is physically gone, but his music still lives on forever, but he might be coming be coming back earth in the virtual reality sense. Biggie, who could be the latest pop star to get the hologram treatment joining a list of others musical performers that includes Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and Tupac Shakur.

The the New York rapper’s widow, Faith Evans, made a appearance on the Dame Dash Radio Show and according to her there are plans to recreate Biggie’s image for possible use in music videos and live performances. Faith stated, “We actually are in development with a hologram, but I don’t necessarily know to what extent I’m gonna perform with it. But I want to debut it in the first video for the album, and maybe use it a little bit performing live.”

The singer, who featured on I’ll Be Missing You by Puff Daddy – a tribute to her husband that topped the charts shortly after his death in 1997 – is currently working on The King and I, a posthumous duets album with the rapper. She said: “Today, if he was alive, I know, ultimately, we would’ve done something like this. But the way the stuff has come together, and the way I’m using his vocals, it’s giving the stuff new life, it’s totally different.”

When Biggie released his debut album Ready to Die in 1994, he became a central figure in the East Coast hip hop scene and increased New York’s visibility in the genre at a time when West Coast hip hop was dominant in the mainstream.

On March 9, 1997, Christopher Wallace aka Notorious B.I.G. was killed by an unknown assailant in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles. His double-disc album Life After Death, released 16 days later, rose to No. 1 on the U.S. album charts and was certified Diamond in 2000, one of the few hip hop albums to receive this certification.
