Kansas City Fans Classless, Boo ‘Moment of Unity’
The NFL season opener between the Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texan got off to a rocky start. Some fans in attendance at Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium on Thursday appeared to boo during a pregame “Moment of Unity.”

The Texans left the field while both national anthem and black national anthem were played and than returned to the field and linked arms with the Kansas City Chiefs for the moment.
The announcer stated,”Please join us in a moment of silence dedicated to the ongoing fight for equality in our country,” and the booing commenced.
Seven phrases developed by players on both teams were displayed on the scoreboard during the moment:
We Support Equality
We Must End Racism
We Believe in Justice for All
We Must End Police Brutality
We Choose Unconditional Love
We Believe Black Lives Matter
It Takes All of Us
This display of booing just demonstrates the lack of understanding and compassion for a movement to end police brutality and racial injustice. Former NFL Colin Kaepernick knelt for the National Anthem in peaceful protest against police brutality in 2016 inspired a movement among players. Many fans including President Donald Trump have hijacked the narrative stating that players are disrespecting the military and flag. Time and time again players have stated this is not the case, but they are only trying to bring awareness to social injustice.
To the white fans what do you not understand? Is the killing of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Eric Garner, and many others is that not enough for you to wake up and see that there is a problem in this country? So I guess these players are good enough for you to cheer for as long as they are scoring touchdowns but once they leave the stadium, they are just a nigger to you.
