Listen: ATL Soul Outfit – The Dangerfeel Newbies Release New Single

by Raheem Karim

Atlanta-based indie/modern soul outfit, The Dangerfeel Newbies, return with a new single that marks the shift in seasons. Released on the Fall equinox, Wednesday, September 23, “Love From The Sun” featuring Kathleen Bertrand is an ode to those idyllic summer days that we’ve just left behind. Kathleen Bertrand is an accomplished jazz vocalist who used to perform with Roy Ayers in the late 70’s/early 80’s and she has three stellar solo releases under her belt.

The horns on this track are from Atlanta’s own, The PR Experience, who used to back Cameo in the mid-80’s. Legendary London DJ/producer/engineer, Daz-I-Que mixed and mastered the project. This is the first single from the trio’s forthcoming E.P. Southern Suns/Sons and the entire project is a tribute to the power of the sun. Each track featured on this project of covers features the sun as it’s main theme and in proper Dangerfeel Newbie form, will feature some of the cream of the crop from the Atlanta indie soul/jazz community. The E.P. will be dropping later this fall. Check out the single below
