Kendrick Lamar
TDE artist Kendrick Lamar is riding high off his performance of ‘The Blacker The Berry’/ ‘Alright’ on the Grammy’s this past Monday. If you noticed he added a freestyle to the memorable performance that night, which he took five Grammy’s home out of the elven nominations.
Well according to K.Dot that was not a freestyle but one of many outtakes of his critically acclaimed sophomore album “To Pimp A Butterfly.”
“You see all these performances on these late night shows,” said Kendrick. “I got a chamber of material from the album that I was in love where sample clearances or something as simple as a deadline kept it off the album. But I think probably close to 10 songs that I’m in love with that I’ll still play and still perform that didn’t make the cut.”
After the Grammys, Lamar took home five trophies including best rap album, best rap performance and best rap song for “Alright,” best rap/sung performance for “These Walls” and best music video for his “Bad Blood” collaboration with Taylor Swift.
