David Letterman’s first guest is Barack Obama
Legendary late night talk show host David Letterman is making his return to television. However, Letterman’s return will be in a different format unlike appearing on the big networks such as NBC, CBS or ABC. His new show will be on the streaming service Netflix and the title of his show My Next Guest Needs No Introduction. Letterman’s show will be a six part monthly series that will make its debut January 12th.
His guest for the Netflix series are some the most prominent names in politics and the entertainment industry. My Next Guest Needs No Introduction will be 44th president Barack Obama, media personality Howard Stern, entrepreneur Jay-Z, and actor George Clooney.
The show will be an hour-long conversation with each guest a much more intimate approach then his previous late night shows, which will have no Paul Shaffer or orchestra backing him nor any musical performance. The first guest will be former two term president Barack Obama and this will mark his first sit down interview since leaving the white house. Other guests on his show will be former SNL alum and 30 Rock creator and actress Tina Fey and Malala Yousafzai,
Letterman made his debut on late night television in 1982 with his show Late Night with David Letterman and his show ran successfully until 1992 when he switched to CBS for the Late Show with David Letterman that ran until 2015.
Netflix latest moves are changing how we will watch television by landing David Letterman to do a new format for a talk show and releasing the movie Bright with one of Hollywood’s top box office actors Will Smith, by the way which they are started to develop a sequel.
