Chantilly “Cleva Thoughts” Kornegay is not your average rapper, she is a lyricist that brings value to the mic. In the sex driven music industry, she has chosen another lane. Cleva is very passionate and aware about the issues affecting her community, and uses her platform to address these ills of society.
She states,
It feels to me many of the songs we hear in the mainstream hip hop has been dumb down. Conscious hip hop content has been pushed to the back so I mix it up. I know every song can’t be so serious so I speak on everyday situations most from the urban community can relate to.
Not only is she a rapper, but a producer and songwriter, making her a triple threat. She has been paying dues and making her way through the underground scene, She has been in a magazine featuring Tech N9Ne, various underground radio stations including Rolling with Swanny River.
